Workshop Forward Bends
What will we do?
A three hour workout and live anatomy training of the hip in the classical uttanasana (forward fold with feet parallel).
Suitable for beginners or an introduction to Pralaya Yoga and also interesting for yoga teachers or yoga lovers who would like to deepen their practice.
In this workshop the reference pose is the forward fold: this will be repeated to experience what a series of postures has done and how effective it was.
Anatomically there are a number of processes necessary to facilitate the the bending of the hip. In this workshop you will follow these steps in a structured manner. This way you will be able to experience in a feeling sense what the different parts do with your forward fold.
The steps we will go through are:
lengthening of the abdominals
strengthening of the upper quadriceps
train (in a lengthened way) the hamstrings
strengthen the outside line of the hip (gluteus medius for example)
open the inner thighs
The maximum flexibility of the hip and legs is reached, not by passive stretching but by activating forgotten muscle groups. In this spicy workshop a lot of postures will be done to condition strength and flexibility in the pelvis. The conditions are set to create freedom in the lower back and hips. Eventually you will work towards splits or at least a better forward bend.
